Agnieszka Wolny-Hamakło, poet, has recently published a novel in which she uses her fondness of metaphors and confronts elliptical street language with exemplary Polish. “Zaćmienie” is also a collection of bizarre stories about eccentrics and losers. The escalation of absurdity makes us listen to her interlocutors, among whom one can even find Anna Jantar and Arnold Schwarzenegger, without any surprise.
