“45 pomysłów na powieść,” renewed in 2014 together with “Bildungsroman,” is a collection of refined prose: it includes finished, closed narratives and beginnings of stories that ended intriguingly prematurely. “Bildungsroman,” on the other hand, is Krzysztof Varga’s first “Hungarian” book. Rich, sensual, full of memories, it is a story about the riches of the temporal world, a story which begins nowhere and ends in the same place.
Krzysztof Varga | Has made it to the finals of the Nike Literary Award three times – for his books “Tequila,” “Nagrobek z lastryko,” and “Gulasz z turula.” His recently published works include: “Trociny” (2012) and “Czardasz z mangalicą” (2014). He is also author of the essayist prose “Bildungsroman” (1997, 2014) and the volume of prose “45 pomysłów na powieść” (1998, 2014), for which he has been awarded by Fundacja Kultury. His books have been translated to different languages, including Italian, Hungarian, Bulgarian, Slovakian, Serbian, Ukrainian, Croatian.
