The program of the 1st Zygmunt Haupt Festival is rich in meetings that are not only dedicated to the patron of the festival and his work.

Events held at the Municipal Public Library and the Gorlice Centre of Culture will give literature lovers a chance to meet valued prose writers from Poland and abroad.

Among the guests we will find writers with notable literary output, well known among readers, as well as new authors. They all have one thing in common – they will come to Gorlice to share the best literature. We will hear about the recent books by Krzysztof Varga, Andrzej Stasiuk, and Justyna Bargielska. Together with Artur Daniel Liskowacki we will face the Polish-German Szczecin. The meeting on the recent books by Yuri Andrukhovych, on the other hand, will take us across the eastern border. Zofia Król’s questions about the books “Pająki pana Roberta” and “Uprawa roślin południowych metodą Miczurina” shall be answered by their authors – Robert Pucek and Weronika Murek. Darek Foks and Waldemar Bawołek will take a look at the social landscape of contemporary Poland, and Krzysztof Środa will take us on a phenomenological journey. The meeting with Wojciech Nowicki will be an opportunity to touch upon the topic of time and space travel, and the fear and longing that they evoke. The person to talk with Agnieszka Wolny-Hamkało about her novel “Zaćmienie” will be Jarosław Klejnocki.

Admission to all festival events is free. Detailed plan and descriptions of the events can be found under the PROGRAM tab.
