In her books “Londyńczycy” (2011) and “Angole“ (2014) Ewa Winnicka presents reporter’s coverage about emigration. “Londyńczycy” is a story about Polish emigrants, people associated with general Anders, for whom there was no room in Poland, about great politics that mixed with personal dramas, about meticulous preparations to the 3rd world war, about loneliness and failed marriages, about permanent conflict: one that is political, religious, and inter-generational. In “Angole” the author gives voice to the “Polish invaders” of the Isles, coming from all social groups. She asks how Polish intelligentsia, labourers, small business owners, students, and the unemployed see the country they have entered.
