CURRICULUM VITAE – ANGELIKA KUŹNIAK
The topics of Angelika Kuźniak’s books are other people’s lives; she also usually goes where typical short bios do not. In “Marlene,” the author writes a vobrant story, one that is rich and behind the scenes. She gives the reader a kaleidoscope that meshes together the impressions of photographers, the memories of friends, entries from the unpublished journals of Dietrich, and press articles. The protagonist of “Papusza” is a poet whose popularity garnered her fame, and soon became her curse. Being accused of breaking the tribal code ruined her life. For years she has been living in seclusion and contempt.
