MONIKA ROGOWSKA-STANGRET | PhD
PhD in philosophy. Currently cooperating with the Institute of Applied Social Sciences of the University of Warsaw. Scholarship holder from the Kościuszko Foundation as well as from ERSTE Stiftung and WUS Austria. In 2013 she earned her PhD from the Institute of Philosophy at the Polish Academy of Sciences (with her doctoral thesis “Ciało – poza innością i tożsamością. Trzy figury ciała w filozofii współczesnej”). Participant of a research project financed by the European Cooperation in Science and Technology. Has published in “Przegląd Filozoficzno-Literacki,” “Etyka,” “Prace Kulturoznawcze,” “Fabularie,” “Wakat,” “Artmix,” “Women: A Cultural Review.” Deals in modern philosophy, feminist theory, feminist new materialism, posthumanism, animal studies, and the relationship between literature and philosophy. Collaborates with “Przegląd Filozoficzno-Literacki,” has translated Naomi Wolf’s “The Beauty Myth” (Czarna Owca 2014) and works by Judith Butler, Elizabeth Grosz, and Susan Sontag.
